Area schools are back in session today, so the round of sports postponements we saw early this week is over. Tonight, the area girls basketball schedule shows:

Illini Bluffs at Monmouth-Roseville
United at Mercer County
Galva at Annawan
Ridgewood at Princeville

The Galesburg girls will return to the court tomorrow night when they host the Quincy Blue Devils.

The latest Illinois high school basketball polls are out, and the Monmouth-Roseville Titans boys have fallen into a tie for third in the class 2A rankings. The Titans lost at the Abingdon Shootout on Saturday by 12 points to North Lawndale. Their other two losses are to class 4A Quincy and class 3A Metamora. Rockridge continues to be to top-rated team in class 2A., with Kewanee showing up for the first time this week at the #10 position.

In class 1A, Brimfield has moved up to the #2 spot, as the Indians remain undefeated at 19-0. Kewanee Wethersfield checks in at #8 this week.

The Carl Sandburg Chargers men and women will be making up yesterday’s postponements when they travel to Highland this evening. Then it’s back home to the Galesburg campus for games tomorrow against Sauk Valley.
