A Galesburg man is facing charges of disorderly conduct for allegedly making threats against a local business.
Police were called to CenturyLink in the 100 block of North Cherry Street on Monday due to 81 year old Frederick Larner making angry remarks and cursing on the phone.Employees were able to find out it was Larner on the phone after cross-checking the number in their database from which he was calling.
Officers arrived on scene just before 5 p.m. to meet with employees at the business.
According to the police report, the Century Link location was locked and closed after the phone call until police could arrive on scene.
While on the phone, Larner allegedly stated that he planned to drive to the location and blow it up with a bomb.
Employees said they were fearful during the situation.
Police located Larner in the 400 block of Edwards Avenue later that day where he allegedly explained he was upset about a charge on his bill he did not understand.
