Cecil C. Bramlett 91, of East Galesburg, Illinois passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 5:10 PM at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
Cecil was born November 21, 1922 in Reno, Arkansas, the son of Mathew Bramlett and Birdie Shoemaker. He was reared and educated in the Herman and Gilson areas. He later joined the United States Army. He then married Verna Derry on May 26, 1943 in Abingdon, Illinois.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Verna Bramlett of Galesburg, Illinois, five children; Gerald (Linda) Bramlett of Galesburg, Dennis (Marcia) Bramlett of Galesburg, Gale (Rene) Bramlett of Rio, Katherine (Joel) Aldrich, of Galesburg, Becky (Jeff) Aldrich of Galesburg. He is also survived 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, eight sisters and one grandson.
Cecil retired from Maytag in 1984 after 32 years of service in the paint shop. He was a member of the 1st Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Galesburg, Illinois.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the 1st Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Galesburg. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Joel Aldrich and Rev. David Jozwick will be officiating. Interment will take place at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg.
