There are four Republicans hoping to earn their party’s nomination Tuesday. They are Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford, businessman Bruce Rauner and state Sens. Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady.
On Sunday Dillard is kicking off a tour to fly around the state with former Gov. Jim Edgar. Dillard was a one-time chief of staff to Edgar.
Rauner is also crisscrossing the state to meet with voters.
Brady plans to participate Sunday in Chicago’s South Side Irish Parade, as does Gov. Pat Quinn and his Democratic challenger activist Tio Hardiman.
A Rutherford spokesman says the Chenoa Republican is making lots of calls and sending emails.
