Norene L. “Sally” “Mo” Lief age 67 of Avon, died at 6:50 am Monday, March 24, 2014 at the OSF St. Mary Medical Center ER in Galesburg.She was born on August 12, 1946 in Kewanee, the daughter of Elving F. and Bernadine L. (Stach) Lief.
She is survived by three daughters, Melissa (and James) Monroe of Avon, Tracy (and Buddy) Winheim of Fort Madison, Iowa and Paula (and Art) Slater of the state of South Carolina; one granddaughter, Danielle and six grandsons, Grant, Devin, Tyler, Kory, Chad and Kirk; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (and Debbie) Lief; two sisters, Larretta Barrows and Brenda (and Ronnie) Talbot.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carl.
She had lived in Avon the past 16 years and prior to that she had lived in Galesburg and Abingdon. She worked at the former Maytag Company in Galesburg retiring in 2005. She was a member of IAM&AW Lodge #2063. She enjoyed her dogs, Sammi and Maddi, and her dog that preceded her in death, Fancy Pants.
Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate her life, the family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Abingdon American Legion Post #381. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
