Garman, Dorothy “Dot” L

Dorothy “Dot” L. Garman 83, of Galesburg died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at her home.
She was born June 17, 1930 in St. Charles, Mo. the daughter of Charles C. and Edna L. Griffith. She married Dale D. Garman on June 5, 1949 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2010.
She is survived by three daughters, Vickie Banks, Deb Friend and Susan (Steve) Duncan, all of Galesburg. She was grandma to four grandchildren, Kristi (John) Wethington of Dunlap, Kari (David) Caldwell of Galesburg, Jennifer (Jeramie) Crisp of Abingdon and Dustin (Nicke Kendall) Kistler of Prairie City, Iowa. She was a great grandmother to nine great grandchildren, Alex and Adam Wethington, Bo and Rebekah Merritt, Mataya Caldwell, JD, Jase, and Jax Crisp and Hunter Kistler. She is also survived by a special niece, Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Don, Chuck and Loran.
Dot enjoyed playing cards, bowling and going to “the boat”! She enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals and attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren.
Per Dot’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Friends and family are welcome to attend the graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
