A special meeting of the ROWVA Board of Education yesterday afternoon went over the final details and approval of the sale of the Altona grade school. The meeting itself lasted maybe ten minutes with the board approving the sale of the grade school to the Village of Altona.
The school was sold for one dollar, and Board President Kevin Erickson says they’ve had some discussions with the village regarding the future of the building.
Erickson tells WGIL the board has officially turned the property over to the village.
“That’s no longer our responsibility, what they do with it now that they own it they can do as they wish.”
Erickson says everything has been taken out of the former grade school and transfer to the new school.
He says, it was always the districts goal to move the grade school from Altona to Oneida and have all their K through 12 on the same campus.
