A Night Of Fun And Food For A Good Cause

It’s not easy running a not-for-profit, especially when the economic climate is not so hot.

But that’s not stopping the Knox County Child Advocacy Center from hosting their 3rd annual fundraiser in an effort help raise money to support the number of counseling services they offer.

This year’s Child First Extravaganza has a number of opportunities for people to donate with live and silent auctions.

Another way to donate, CAC Executive Director Judy Guenseth says, is by bidding on a local celebrity waiter. She tells WGIL winning those bids will give folks a leg up.

“The incentive there is that, if you’re at a table and you buy a waiter, you get to go before those that don’t buy a waiter,” says Guenseth. “It’s just kind of another means to raise funds and what we’ve opened up for those celebrity waiters is the ability to kind of promote what they are coming from.”

Guenseth says some of those celebrity waiters include Steve Brody from the Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Denise Bradburn from the Discovery Depot and Ann Tucker from the United Way.

The doors open at 5:30 Saturday night and you can get tickets at the door for $25 or ahead of time for $20.
