A man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly began swinging a sword at his wife.
Galesburg Police responded to the 11-hundred block of Huber Street on Sunday to a report of a physical domestic. Officers made contact with the victim who was crying and showed a cut on the right side of her nose.
Investigators said they spoke with the victim’s roommate who said she was lying down when she heard a noise and found the victim with blood running down her face.
According to the police report, an argument between the victim and 51-year-old Robert Bush allegedly led him to hit her several times and pull her hair.
When the victim left the situation to hide in the bathroom, Bush allegedly grabbed a sword off the wall and began swining it at her.
Bush then allegedly followed the victim as she attempted to escape the scene to a neighbors house.
After speaking with those present, officers attempted to enter the house, but Bush was allegedly not following commands.
Police kicked the door in and after a bit of a struggle took Bush to the ground.
He is being charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery involving a weapon, and resisting police. He will be in court Friday with his Public Defender.
