Galesburg Police were patrolling the Amtrak Depot on South Seminary Street on Tuesday as part of regular criminal interdiction searches. According to a press release, officers located 55-year-old Stephen Ladoux as a person of interest.
Ladoux was cited as being from California – which is considered by the Galesburg Police Department to be a source state for cannabis.
The K-9 unit was employed to conduct a search of Ladoux’s bags – which allegedly gave a positive alert. A search of the bags then allegedly revealed what was found to be both cannabis and hash.
According to a press release, 10 pounds of cannabis and six pounds of hash was located in the bags.
Ladoux is being charged with cannabis trafficking over 5-thousand grams in the case. Police say Ladoux was booked at the Knox County Jail awaiting an appearance in Knox County Circuit Court.
