A company planning to bring 150 jobs to the Monmouth area has been revealed after months of waiting.
According to multiple sources, Cloverleaf Cold Storage will be constructing a large-scale facility in Warren County in the near future. The company is based in Sioux City, Iowa and according to the company website has 15 cold storage locations around the country.
The City of Monmouth, Warren County, and the United School District approved property tax levy abatements for a period of 10-years to help attract the company.
According to a press release, Governor Pat Quinn will be making an appearance in Monmouth on Friday to discuss the project and, according to an e-mail, plans to discuss how Illinois’ economy is making a comeback.
Cloverleaf Cold Storage had considered states other than Illinois for the project according to letters from the City of Monmouth to the Warren County board. Specifics on the project will likely be divulged during the announcement by Quinn, tomorrow.
WGIL will have live coverage of that appearance Friday beginning at approximately 11:45am.
