Protests Continue at McDonald's Headquarters

Wearing shirts that said “good jobs now,” they carried signs in English and Spanish with slogans such as “stand up, live better.”

Fifty-nine-year-old Shawn Dalton, traveled to Illinois from Pennsylvania to attend the protest coinciding with the company’s annual shareholder meeting.

Dalton says her daughter is a recent high school graduate who can’t afford to go to college right away, so she’ll likely wind up earning Pennsylvania’s $7.25 an hour minimum wage.

She says: “That won’t get her an apartment, that won’t buy a bus pass, that won’t buy food. She’ll either have to depend on welfare or depend on me.”
