Monmouth City officials are ready to make the zoning changes needed for a proposed green space supported by the Buchanan Center for the Arts.
However, during Monday night’s Monmouth City Council meeting, the matter was tabled. City Administrator Lowell Crow says the City wanted to make sure all parties were in agreement on how to proceed and everyone’s concerns were addressed.
Crow tells WGIL that at this point, the City has no concerns that project will not move forward.
“The Pattee Director is meeting with the shop owner who has the adjacent property and who’s of concern to make sure they are meeting their needs, but we don’t want to move forward until that shop owner is satisfied,” says Crow.
Crow says from a City stand point, this is an agreement between two businesses who are in the middle of negotiations.
However, Crow says once both parties are ready to move forward, the City has no problem approving their rezoning request.
