Civic Art Center Appoints New Director

GCACA local organization promoting the visual arts in Galesburg has gone through a change in leadership.

Tuesday Cetin was recently named as director of the Galesburg Civic Art Center. She returns to Galesburg from Jacksonville, Florida where she has spent the last 10 years.

Cetin takes over from Heather Norman – who served in the role for several years.

Even so, Cetin tells WGIL she hopes to bring some new energy to the position.

“I hope to implement definitely some programming both for artists and students and for our community at large,” says Cetin. “And get more people in the door to understand what a special art community we do have in Galesburg.”

Invitations were recently sent out asking the recipients to attend the Galesburg Civic Art Center’s Annual meeting and to meet Cetin for the first time.

The Art Center hosts events and exhibitions to promote the visual arts, locally.

Cetin says that although she’s only been in the position several days, she is excited about the opportunities.
