Mrs. Rose Marie Padilla, 72, of Galesburg, died at 3:24 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2014 at home.
Rose was born February 19, 1942 in Chicago, the daughter of Willard and Zelma Aten Teel. She married Richard Padilla on November 23, 1979 in Galesburg. She is survived by her husband, Richard of Galesburg; two sons, Frank D. Karr and Jeffery A. Karr both of Galesburg; two daughters, Robin E. Young and Janna M. Hollie both of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Brandi Karr, Travis Purcell and Trey Sibley; and three great grandchildren, Kaelynn Beasley, Eden Stewart and Treylynn Sibley. She is also survived by three brothers, Roger Teel of Monmouth, David Teel of Wichita, KS and Robert Teel of Texas; and seven sisters, Joyce (Charlie) Gallegos of New Mexico, Janice Jensen of Woodward, KS, Vicki Wilcox of Texas, Barbara Houston of New Mexico, Annie (Buster) Guest of Shamrock, TX, Karen (Charlie) Bateman of Shamrock, TX and Susie Carey of Rushville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Willard Teel.
Rose was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. She loved to dance and enjoyed going to the riverboat.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Pastor Bob Malone will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family for a fund to be designated later.
