A much loved tradition starts Wednesday afternoon with a variety of events from the carnival to the stock car races.
The Knox County Fair officially opens its 164th season and President of the Knox County Fair Board, Tom Collopy, says they’ve been working hard to make sure everything is ready to go.
Collopy says they’ve been busy with the 4H Fair and tells the WGIL Morning News that they’ve been in Fair setup mode and that’s meant a few changes.
“We’ve moved out beer garden to the exhibition building and it was too small where it was so we moved it down there and we set up a nice stage and we’ve got some great entertainment all four nights down there and the nice thing about it is that if it rains, or we have bad weather, their inside, and you’re inside,” says Collopy.
He says now if the weather goes bad the entertainment can still go on despite what is happening outside.
Collopy says you can purchase a fun card for $30 that will get you into the gate and into the grandstands all four nights.
