Keith E. Rohrer, 67, of Avon, IL passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014, 3:21 pm at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. He was born September 25, 1946 in Canton, IL the son of Kenneth W. and Maralee Gray Rohrer. He married Patricia Gray on January 30, 1971 in Canton, IL.
He is survived by his wife of Avon, IL; three daughters Nikki (Matt) Beard of Canton, IL, Brook (Nick) Schafer of Princeton, IL, and Kim (Tony) Brucker of Princeton, IL; 6 grandchildren Logan, Camden, and Keegan Beard, Ryan and Karsyn Brucker, and Remington Schafer; one brother Gary (Berta) Rohrer of Avon, IL, two sisters Kay (Jack) Myers of Davenport, FL, and Janet (David) Bradley of Avon, IL; one uncle Henry (Shirley) Rohrer of Canton, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and step mother (Margaret).
He served in the US Army, stationed in Panama. He farmed his entire life. He was a member of the Fairview American Legion. He was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau where he served as Vice President. He was a director of Fulton County Soil and Water, and member of Production Credit and F.S. Board. He was an active member of the Avon Lions Club and a Union Township Trustee. He served and President of the Avon Fat Steer Show. He was an avid White Sox Fan. He enjoyed and collected Oliver Tractors. He loved his grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Monday July 28, 2014, at 11:00 am at the Corman Memorial Home Avon, IL. Family will receive friends on Sunday July 27, 2014 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Corman’s Avon, IL. The burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, IL where Military Honors will be accorded by the Fairview American Legion.
