Local Carnival Aims to Bring Community Together

It’s not everyday you get to celebrate a milestone like turning 90.

But that’s what the Calvary Assembly of God Church is celebrating this year, and they’re doing it with a carnival.

This weekend, the church is hosting a community carnival and they’re hoping everyone will come out and help them celebrate.

Pastor Jeff Morrow tells the WGIL Morning News they still have vendor spots open and they want to fill those spots with as many organizations that represent Galesburg.

“We want to make this a Galesburg community event,” Morrow said.  “Galesburg Christian School is going to be out there.  We want to make this a community event.  So any vendors are welcome to come out there.”

Morrow says they’ve hired the same carnival that handles the Knox County Fair.

The event is free admission, but there is a cost for ride tickets, which Morrow says are $1.25 a piece, or you can purchase a family package.

There will also be a food tent with pulled pork and other treats, as well as your traditional carnival food.
