CHICAGO (AP) — A tanker truck leaking acid on the Chicago’s South Side has prompted authorities to close an elevated train platform near U.S. Cellular Field while a hazardous materials crew responds.
Authorities say the incident Wednesday shouldn’t affect an afternoon White Sox game against the Texas Rangers at the ballpark. Police say a Metra station, expressway exits and some streets nearby are also closed.
The Chicago Fire Department says on social media that nobody was transported from the incident and there’s “No impact on ball game.”
Drivers headed to the game were being told to use the 31st Street exit from the expressway.
