Galesburg Police have just today released information about a stabbing incident on Wednesday night.
According to a press release, officers responded to the 400 block of West Brooks Street after receiving a call of a stabbing incident.
They were informed that a 49-year-old man had been attacked with a knife at a residence in the 500 block of West Brooks Street.
Because of the injuries, the victim was taken to Galesburg Cottage Hospital in a private vehicle.
Police say the victim was receiving treatment for the stab wounds and was eventually transferred to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
The victim is still being treated at the hospital for the wounds.
Illinois State Police Crime Scene Technicians were called to the scene of the incident to investigate.
Due to the investigation, a warrant has been issued for 29-year-old Christopher Croom.
He is facing charges of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery in the case.
