The Galesburg Board of Election Commissioners discussed continuing preparations for Election Day in November.
Among those preparations is the appointment of Election Judges. The City of Galesburg’s Attorney filed the paperwork for the judges recently with the appointment scheduled for earlier today.
Election Commission Executive Director Lisa Watson says there is still a process that needs to be followed.
“Those confirmations will be sent out for signatures,” Watson said. “Once we receive the signed signatures back from the election judges, they’re officially appointed, and they’ll serve on the November election.”
A training session still needs to be completed leading up to Election Day.
The training allows judges to instruct voters in the instance of a question or problem while voting is ongoing.
