CHICAGO (AP) — Security has been increased at a popular Chicago tourist attraction after a brawl involving dozens of teenagers sent a pregnant woman to the hospital.
Police and witnesses say between 30 and 100 teens stormed Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier on Friday night. Five people were arrested and charged with reckless conduct.
A Navy Pier spokesman tells the Chicago Sun-Times anyone under the age of 18 will not be allowed into the family-friendly event that will end Jan. 11 without a parent or guardian. He says additional security guards will also be on duty.
Two other similar incidents occurred over the weekend at a suburban Chicago shopping mall and a downtown fast food restaurant.
