SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis says a Republican-controlled Congress will approve jobs bills to help people get back to work.
The Taylorville Republican offered the GOP response to President Barack Obama’s weekly address on Saturday. He spoke from Springfield.
Davis says if Democrats work with his party, “we have a great opportunity to grow our economy and put our nation on solid footing for a bright future.”
Republicans control the House and won a Senate majority in November.
Davis is sponsor of one of the jobs bills. It would encourage small businesses to hire veterans.
