A lockdown was called as a precaution while law enforcement went on the search for what appeared to be a man with a gun yesterday in Warren County.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards says his deputies, Monmouth Police, and State Police all searched the area around the Roseville Kid’s Place Daycare around 12:30 yesterday afternoon, after staff reported someone on the premises with what appeared to be a long-barrel weapon.
A searched proved unsuccessful, but they say eyewitnesses eventually led investigators to a 15-year-old male, who was found and taken into custody. Edwards says the gun he had on him was a B.B. gun.
The boy was arrested but eventually released to his parents’ custody. The name of the juvenile won’t be released. And Edwards says the matter has been forwarded to Warren County State’s Attorney Chip Algren. It’s not clear if any formal charges will be filed.
