A local native is taking on the heavy snows out east today and riding out the storm.
Glenn Hendricks, originally of the Oneida area, has lived in Boston for a little over a year now. He says that he’s never seen snow quite like what is falling currently.
Hendricks also spent a number of years in New York City; and says that when big storms hit a city with size, it’s quite strange to see an entire city practically shut down.
Hendricks tells the WGIL Morning News that for lack of a better term, he’s snowed in today.
“Here, I’m in a town north of Boston, with a lot of buildings,” Hendricks said. “For any kind of town, it’s devastating to the area. I know on my windowsill — and I’m on the fourth floor of an old mill building — I’ve got eight-foot drifts just on my windowsill. And I’ve got 12-foot windows. So I can barely see out of them.”
Snow has been falling on the Boston area continuously since 4 am this morning, and doesn’t look to be letting up anytime soon.
Hendricks says that with a storm that is dropping around 3 to 4 inches every hour, he has never experienced a storm of this magnitude.
