CHICAGO (AP) — Election officials in Chicago say Tuesday is the last day to register online or by mail for the runoff election next month.
Chicago Board of Election Commissioners spokesman Jim Allen says voters have until 11:59 p.m. with the online system and the downtown election board location on Tuesday. Mail-in forms available online will be accepted and processed if postmarked on or before Tuesday.
There will be another chance to register through the grace period program, which can be done in person through April 4.
To register a person must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old by Election Day and be a precinct resident at least 30 days before the election. The election is April 7.
The mayor’s race along with several aldermanic contests will be on the ballot.
