Big Brothers Big Sisters of Knox County will hold it’s “Bowl For Kids’ Sake” tomorrow at Northgate Lanes in Galesburg.
Those who wish to bowl or donate are asked to raise a minimum of $50. Participants can bowl in teams or as an individual.
BBBS Community Partnership Manager Nicole Campen tells the WGIL Morning News that the organization is always looking for more volunteers to join the organization.
“We’re always in need,” says Campen. “Knox County has an average of about 40 matches, and there is always still that wait list that we are working to get through. When you look at the average cost of a match for us–it’s about $1,000 per year, so we’re always pushing to get more volunteers and get more funds.”
Campen says Bowl For Kids’ Sake is by far the largest fundraiser nation wide for BBBS. Tomorrow’s event will also be held in Fulton County..which will be followed by Peoria next weekend.
Campen says the event will be “a family fun event.” Donors will receive various thank you items, including a goodie bag from area merchants, as well as dinner.
The top two donors at the event will reportedly be awarded either a TV or Ipad. Activities begin tomorrow evening starting at 4:30.
