The Big Read Program continues this evening at the Orpheum Theater, where the 1941 movie adaptation of Dashiell Hammett’s “The Maltese Falcon” will be shown.
This is the follow up event to last months activities, which included distributing copies of the book version of the story, as well as hosting a library wide game of Clue.
The Big Read Program comes from grant funding under the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to revitalize the role of reading in American Culture.
Galesburg is one of only 77 communities in the nation to host the programming.
Doors open tonight at the Orpheum around 6:30 with the movie being shown at 7:00. Events will continue next week as well. The library will host a trivia night, a young adult book club meeting, and a mystery scavenger hunt.
