Lincoln Attendance Record Broken, New Webpage Revealed

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum set a one-day attendance record with free admission on its 10th anniversary.

Visitors from as far away as South Korea and Lebanon joined the celebration Sunday as 5,251 came through the doors, far outpacing the former record of 4,740. The previous record was set the day the museum opened its doors, also with free admission.

Debuting on the anniversary was a website called “MyLincoln.” It contains Lincoln documents and photographs to supplement the museum’s exhibits. Guests interested in knowing more about an exhibit may look it up immediately on a smartphone or tablet.

AT&T supports the MyLincoln website.

Officials also announced winners among more than 1,200 student entries in an art contest.
