A praise concert will take place to raise funds for Camp Kidz. The camp is a 6-week long summer camp for area children with disabilities.
Sunday’s event will feature a number of area praise bands, as well as a live auction and various other activities.
Camp Kidz board member Denise Bradburn tells Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL that it really is all for the kids.
“The children when camp is not in session are typically just at home for the summer, they are not in summer school or other programs in the area, so it is very important to offer this for these children,” says Bradburn. “Not only does Camp Kidz offer the camp, they also offer transportation to the camp. The children go on field trips each week, they also take swimming time at the Hawthorne Pool, so it’s a great community for these who children who normally only have the school day as their social avenue.”
More than five churches will come together for Sundays events. The concert kicks off at 6 p.m. and will last until 9.
