Fulton County Man Arrested on Murder Charges

James F.W. MaddoxAuthorities arrested a Fulton County man yesterday on first degree murder charges.

According to a press release, 37-year-old James F.W. Maddox is being held in the Fulton County Jail without a bond.

Maddox has been charged in the death of a Canton man, 45-year-old Troy D. Hedges who was killed in the early morning hours on Saturday.

Fulton County Coroner Steve Hines told the Peoria Journal Star on Saturday that the cause of death was stab wounds.

Hines said Hedges was stabbed at his residence in the Canton Lake area.

Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested the man, and were assisted by a number of other authorities including Galesburg Police and the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

Maddox is expected to appear in court for the first time today.
