Another beautiful spring afternoon….another Silver Streaks baseball game today at Jim Sundberg Field. Coach Arnie Gonzalez’ team is set to host East Peoria in a 4:30 start, one day after cooling off Abingdon/Avon 12-3. GHS pitcher Collin Wenstrom shut down the Tornadoes attack yesterday, and was backed by a 14-hit effort. The Streaks have a record of 6-6 heading into today’s game. The GHS freshmen are also at home against Alleman.
Galesburg and Knox College are both turning 180 years old this year. To mark the occasion local actors and historians have put together a program this evening that harkens back to Galesburg’s 50th birthday party. Gail Masinda says this
