Mother nature is offering a far better picture for outdoor activities this weekend, and the Galesburg High School baseball and softball teams are hoping for better results as they head into the second round of Western Big 6 Conference games. The Silver Streaks baseball team will host Rock Island in a doubleheader beginning at 11am Saturday, while the Streaks softball team will travel to play the Rocks in the Quad Cities. Both of the GHS teams were swept by Moline in the cold and windy weather last weekend. This time around, the forecast is calling for clear skies and temperatures in the 70’s.
Also on the GHS calendar for Saturday, the boys tennis team will play at the Pekin Invitational, and the girls soccer team will be at United Township.
