Galesburg Youth Baseball Begins

The Galesburg Youth Baseball League is gearing up for another season, with games set to begin on April 30th.  Russ Idle, who is in his third year of serving as the league president, told us on Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL that the new Junior Streaks team has already played their first games. The team is a partnership with Galesburg High School, and Idle said the eighth-grade team won a tournament in Burlington over the weekend.   As for the younger players, GYBL offers Cal Ripken League teams for ages 4-12, and Babe Ruth League teams for ages 13-to-15.  Idle said the registration process has closed for this season, but last-minute sign-ups may be considered if they are pursued in the next several days.
