BALTIMORE (AP) — Chicago White Sox closer David Robertson will miss at least three games after being placed on the bereavement list before Thursday’s series opener at Baltimore Orioles.
Robertson leads the AL with eight saves. He has an 0.87 ERA with 13 strikeouts and a .152 (5-33) opponents’ batting average.
Chicago recalled infielder Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte. Sanchez batted .224 with five homers, 31 RBI and 40 runs scored in 120 games with the White Sox last season. He was first among AL rookies with 23 doubles.
