Knox defeats Robert Morris

It’s not often that a college baseball game is played on a weekday morning, but such was the case today as the Knox Prairie Fire defeated Robert Morris 7-5 in East Peoria.  Matt McCaffrey led the Knox offense with three hits, while Drake Sykes and Brandon Crose added two hits apiece to the Prairie Fire attack.  Pitcher Alex Bell picked up his first save of the season, after he was called upon to stymie a four-run Robert Morris rally in the eighth inning.  Bell recorded the final four outs of the game to preserve Knox’ seventh win of the season.  Robert Morris fell to 14-and-15.
