The Galesburg Silver Streaks baseball team will look to build on Thursday’s 9-3 win over United Township, as they head into a big weekend that includes a conference doubleheader and a trip to Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The Streaks, who were eliminated from Western Big 6 title contention earlier this week, will try to finish the league season strong on Saturday when they host Quincy for a pair a games beginning at 11am. Then on Sunday, Galesburg returns to Busch Stadium for the first time since 2012, as they’ll play against Webster Grove, MO following the Cardinals game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The last time the Silver Streaks played at the major league venue, catcher Chad Johnson launched a home run to right field that helped to land him in the Kansas City Royals organization.
