Four people are in custody and one is hospitalized in Henderson County after a Tuesday morning meth bust.

Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies stopped in Oquawka 36-year-old Jeremy Thompson of East Galesburg and 38-year-old Ronald Johnson of Galesburg on a traffic violation.

A Henderson County Sheriff’s news release says a search of the vehicle discovered meth precursors.

Thomspon was arrested and Johnson fled on foot and was chased by officers. While fleeing, Johnson swallowed several baggies of meth and was taken to an area hospital.

Police discovered an anhydrous meth lab at the Delabar State Park camp site where Johnson and Thompson had been staying.

At the camp site, 52-year-old Timber Isbell of Oquakwa, 54-year-old Laura Hilligoss of Abingdon and 25-year-old Candace Isbell of Galesburg were also arrested.

The four arrested are charged with unlawful participation in meth production (600 grams), possession of meth precursor — both Class X felonies — and other meth-related charges.

Thompson and Timber Isbell’s bond is set at $100,000, Hilligoss and Candace Isbell bond is $15,000.

The four remain in Henderson County Jail with a court date scheduled for June 15 at 11 a.m. Johnson remains in an area hospital with no bond.
