More than three days after a Sunday shooting that left three men in serious to critical condition, Galesburg police continue to gather information.

Capt. Rod Riggs says police are interviewing witnesses as they come forward.

He tells WGIL the shooting occurred during an after-hours party at 1066 East South St., although the number of people at the party is difficult to pin down.

“We’ve heard numbers anywhere from 20 to 100,” he says. “There’s a large gap in the number.”

A Monday news release from the Galesburg Police Department says 27-year-old Maurice V. Chester-Williams of Chicago was found shot at the scene in critical condition.

Two Galesburg men identified as 24-year-old Andrew White III and 22-year-old Eric D. Robinson were in critical and serious conditions respectively.

Riggs says their condition has not changed. All three were transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria where they remain. Riggs says none of the victims have been interviewed by police at this time.

The department is seeking assistance from the public.

“Investigation is ongoing,” Riggs says. “If anybody has any information that they can give us, please call the Galesburg Police Department Investigations unit or Crime Stoppers.”

Based on Knox County jail booking records, no suspects have been arrested locally in connection to the shooting.
