Sex offender charged with photographing boy in bathroom

CHICAGO (AP) — A convicted sex offender is charged with trying to take pictures of a 12-year-old while the boy was using a Wrigley Field bathroom.

Chicago police say the boy’s father observed a man attempting to photograph the child on Saturday and informed stadium security. Arrested was 37-year-old Nichols Gregor of Villa Park, who is charged with unauthorized videotaping and videotaping in a public place, both felony sex offenses.

The Illinois Sex Offender registry indicates Gregor pleaded guilty in 2011 to child pornography and illegal taping of minors in a DuPage County pool, and was sentenced to six months in jail. During the investigation, authorities said they uncovered child pornography in Gregor’s home.

Gregor is scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday. It wasn’t immediately known if he has legal representation.
