Life Flight transports one in Henderson County crash

A Wisconsin man was flown to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria overnight, following a late night rollover crash near Bald Bluff Township in Henderson County.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department responded shortly after 11 p.m. to a single vehicle wreck on County Rd. 1500 E at County Rd. 2725 N.

23-year-old Joseph Doremus of Oxford, Wisconsin and 33-year-old Bernard Peterson of Adam, Wisconsin were both hospitalized and taken to OSF Holy Family in Monmouth, before Doremus was flown to Peoria. 

In a news release, authorities say the men were arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol and for not wearing seat belts. Doremus was additionally arrested for DUI. 

The sheriff’s department was assisted at the scene by the Oquawka, Galesburg and Keithsburg Ambulance services, and by the Oquawka Fire Department.
