Dulcie Sullivan is Miss Knox County Fair 2016.

She was crowned at the annual pageant that was held last night at the Orpheum Theatre.

Also winners were Junior Miss Knox County Fair Grace Nelson and Little Miss Knox County Fair Marli Allen.

Sullivan is a native of Knoxville and about to enter her senior year at Monmouth College.

She tells WGIL the moment of truth when her name was read and last year’s Queen Tiffani Fink placed the tiara on her head felt surreal.

“My heart was beating so fast, I didn’t know what to feel,” Sullivan says. “It all just kind of felt like a dream for a second, I was shaking and couldn’t stop.”

Sullivan says all the contestants spent the week preparing for the big night.

“We just have to get all of our wardrobe set and ready,” Sullivan says. “We have a week full of practice with the bunch of girls and all of the contestants were a lot of fun this year. We all got along really good. It was just a great experience overall.”

She says this was her first attempt at the Miss title but in 2008 Sullivan won the Junior Miss Knox County Fair.

Next she has her responsibilities at the Knox County Fair but after that she will prepare to compete at the state level.
