Defending champion Jordan Spieth apparently will not be playing at next months’ John Deere Classic PGA event in the Quad Cities. Spieth, who announced on Monday that he would not be playing for the U.S. team at the Olympic Games, said he “didn’t think it would be appropriate” for him to take part in another event at the same time. The Olympic golf tournament and the John Deere Classic will both be held from August 11-14.
