The Taste of Galesburg has come a long way from it’s first year at Galesburg High School to this year which will feature a record 25 different food vendors.

This Thursday on the block of Simmons between Kellogg and Seminary Streets old favorites like Landmark and Chez Willy’s will be set up but so will some new entries.

Brand new Indian restaurant Haldi’s, as well as Boss Food Truck and Lake Bracken will have eats available.

There’s a $5 gate fee and $1 per token. They advise most food items are 1 to 3 tokens.

Sue Dickinson is the taste’s event coordinator.
Dickinson tells Galesburg Live on WGIL something new this year is the Budweiser Brewmaster Experience.

“Basically it brings the brewery experience to the Taste. It explains the eight-stage brewing process. You go inside the trailer, there’s hops and rice and whatever goes into making the beer there,” Dickinson says “They see the brewing tanks and and it shows all the steps and from what I understand there will be a small sample when you come off.”

The Taste of Galesburg is hosted by the Galesburg Business Association and the Galesburg Restaurant and Lodging Association.
