A Cambridge man accused of stabbing his wife earlier this month will be back in court tomorrow afternoon for a preliminary hearing.
Sixty-eight-year-old William Johnston was arrested on July 13 after Henry County Sheriff’s deputies found Johnston’s wife, 68-year-old Cheryl Johnson, with a stab wound at their West Court Street home.
Cheryl Johnston later died at a Davenport, Iowa hospital. William Johnston is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as other charges.
Henry County Court documents indicate Cambridge attorney Bruce Carmen is representing Johnston in the case. Bond has been set at $2 million. Johnston will appear in Henry County Court at 1 p.m.
