Man wanted in Friday shooting remains at large

Galesburg police are continuing to search for a man believed to be involved in a Friday shooting incident.

That’s according to Capt. Rod Riggs who says 34-year-old Heath Williams remains at large. 

WGIL first reported Friday that police responded to 164 Lincoln Street shortly after 10:20 a.m. where a subject was found with a gunshot wound to the leg. 

The man refused medical treatment on scene and was taken to OSF St. Mary Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. 

The shooting also led to District 205 schools briefly locking down their buildings for 10 minutes, though police said the lockdown took place without their consent.

Williams remains wanted on home invasion and aggravated battery with a firearm charges. Police urge anyone with information to contact them or Galesburg Area Crime Stoppers.
