Galesburg Silver Streaks Football vs Dunlap Eagles

2016 GHS Sports Football SB

Here’s a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

“Galesburg football team just about couldn’t have executed a better game plan in their 48-7 win over Dunlap tonight, scoring on their first two possessions, blocking a couple of punts in the 1st quarter. They built a 21-0 lead before Dunlap had even picked up a first down and ended up tacking on 3 more touchdowns in the 2nd half to win it easily going away, 48-7.

Jacob Ross lead the way with 3 touchdown passes, had 2 quarterback sneaks for touchdowns. Two of his three touchdowns went to our Dave’s Autobody Crunchtime player of the game, Caleb Clay, had a 42 yd touchdown catch and a 4yd touchdown catch right before halftime that helped the Silver Streaks build a 21 point halftime lead. Clay also blocked a punt in the game, just every aspect of the game working well for the Silver Streaks in a dominant effort.

They’re 1-0 as they head back home to take on a LaSalle-Peru team that was a big winner over United Township tonight. So we’ll have two teams going head-to-head 1-0 next Friday night when the Silver Streaks open the home portion of their schedule at Van Dyke field.

Galesburg freshmen also were winners 20-12, so it was a successful night all the way around for Galesburg as they win it on the Varsity level as well 48-7.”
