Galesburg police say they have apprehended the man wanted in connection to last week’s non-life threatening shooting on Lincoln St.

Thirty-four-year-old Heath Williams was arrested shortly before 3:30 p.m. this afternoon in the 500 block W. Tompkins St.

According to police, bond has been set at $1 million in the case.

WGIL first reported last Friday that police responded to 164 Lincoln Street shortly after 10:20 a.m. where a subject was found with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man refused medical treatment on scene and was taken to OSF St. Mary Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting also led to District 205 schools briefly locking down their buildings for 10 minutes, though police said the lock down took place without their consent.

It’s not yet known when Williams will appear in court. He is being held in the Knox County Jail.
