Here’s a game recap from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

167 rushing yards from DeAndre Moren and 3 touchdown passes from quarterback Jacob Ross helped the Galesburg Silver Streaks to their first ever post-season victory, 35 – 21, over Chicago Hubbard.

Moren, returning from a back injury which he suffered against Rock Island 2 weeks ago, accounted for all but 8 of the Streaks rushing yards, finishing 32 carries for 167 yards. He also ran for 2 touchdowns. Ross also returned to action following a severe shoulder injury a couple of weeks ago. He was very efficient finishing the game with 11 of 15 passes for 188 yards. Two of his touchdown passes were to Jacob Carl, who finished with 5 catches for 70 yards. Patrick Bond also had a 51 yard touchdown catch and Caleb Clay had 5 receptions for 67 yards.

Galesburg now improves to 8 – 2 on the season and they will head off to Springfield next weekend where they will take on long-time powerhouse Sacred Heart-Griffin. Chicago Hubbard finishes the season 7 – 3 after the first-ever meeting between these two programs.

The Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game is Rafael Avillan, who among other things, recovered an onside kick in the 3rd quarter which led to a Galesburg touchdown.
