PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — An Abingdon woman reported missing on Halloween was found dead in her crashed pickup truck along a rural Peoria County road.

County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll told The (Peoria) Journal Star yesterday that a hunter found Jamie Harroun’s body Saturday morning in the wreckage of her truck along West Smithville Road in Trivoli Township.

An autopsy was scheduled to be performed yesterday.

Ingersoll says the woman’s pickup truck apparently “left the road, went through a field, down a hill and struck an embankment.” She says Harroun may have been headed to Pekin at the time of the crash.

Harroun was last seen Oct. 31 in Galesburg. Her mother, Sharon Tate, told WGIL that search parties had been working together to search for Harroun for about two weeks.
